Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 provider is not registered on the local machine

The information in this article applies to:

  • versaContacts Import
  • versaAssets Import
  • versaSRS
  • Contact Import

The following error message occurs when running the Contacts import, Key Set import or Assets import in versaSRS or when using the companion tools versaAssets Manager, versaContacts Import or versaSRS-MTC.

"Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 provider is not registered on the local machine"

Microsoft Office connectivity drivers are required to interpret Excel files; the machine that contains the application files also requires the driver be installed.

This can be resolved by installing the necessary components and drivers, click the link below to access the free download: Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable

Two executable files are available within the zip:

  • AccessDatabaseEngine.exe
  • AccessDatabaseEngine_X64.exe

Extract the files then run and install the correct one for your operating system, this will resolve the issue for all imports performed via versaSRS and/or companion tools.
